For Admission to BigStar Academy

Priority of Applications

  1. Current Students: Existing students receive first consideration for continued enrollment.
  2. Siblings: Applications for siblings of currently enrolled students are prioritized next.
  3. New Applicants: New students are considered last and only if spaces remain. Open enrollment year around, contingent on availability.

Admission Standards: BigStar Academy maintains high standards for educational achievement and behavior. The administration reserves the right to refuse enrollment or re-enrollment based on these criteria. Attendance at Big Star Academy is a privilege, demanding proper conduct from students, faculty, and parents alike.

Enrollment Process

  1. Completion of Application Forms: All required documents must be submitted to the school office:
    • Student Application Form
    • Tuition Payment Agreement
    • Family Medical Authorization Form
    • Student Conduct Reference Form
    • Consent Form for Photographs and Video Recordings
  2. Enrollment Periods:
    • Open year-round, subject to availability.
  3. Interviews:
    • Applicants and their parents/guardians are required to attend an interview with the school administrator or department supervisor.
    • Academic transcripts or report cards must be presented at the interview.
  4. Health Records:
    • Up-to-date health records are mandatory, including a Florida Physical and a completed Florida Certification of Immunization (Department of Health Form 680). These can be obtained through your physician or the Florida Department of Health.
  5. Proof of Age:
    • A birth certificate is required to verify the applicant’s age, in accordance with Florida State Laws 232.2 and 232.04.
  6. Academic Testing:
    • New applicants must provide recent scores from a national achievement test to:
      • Ensure appropriate grade placement.
      • Help the school maintain its academic standards.
  7. Decision on Admission:
    • Final admission decisions are at the discretion of the school administration.
  8. Compliance with School Policies:
    • All attending students must read, sign, and adhere to the school’s codes of honor, conduct, and dress.
    • Parents are also required to acknowledge and sign the Parent Agreement.
